Release Notes

What's Peach? Read more about it here

Peach 2.3.1 (Be the Cowboy)

  • Allow users to use the F keys instead of the number keys - this is useful if you have an app such as OneNote that conflicts with Peach's shortcuts

  • Fix a quite annoying bug where Peach would forget that it should be minimized on startup if that's where you left it before!

  • Now, on 64-bit Windows, Peach is a 64-bit app - this doesn't really make any tangible difference, but it sounds good. Twice the bits!

Peach 2.2.0 (You Forgot It In People)

Update to Windows 10 October 2018 Update

  • Similar to the previous Windows update, Peach now requires Windows 10 October 2018 Update or Higher (1809), older versions of Windows are no longer supported. Sorry sorry!

Other fixes

  • Ensure that Danish and Slovenian keyboard layouts are treated as AltGr layouts

Peach 2.1.0 (Stay Alive)

  • Fix compatibility with Windows 10 April 2018 Update (1803). Note that you will now need to update to the April 2018 update or higher in order to use Peach, older versions of Windows are no longer supported. We tried really hard to support both, sorry!

Peach 2.0.1 (The Idler Wheel)

  • Fixes an issue where Peach would occasionally rudely block system shutdown. No more!

Peach 2.0 (The Idler Wheel)

Full-Screen Apps

Peach can now take app windows and make them Full Screen. What does this mean? This means that this app will get its own temporary Virtual Desktop with its own name, but only for the lifetime of this app. If you close the window, or unmaximize it, Peach will switch back to where you came from. If you're familiar with macOS Full Screen applications, this will feel very familiar! Try it by selecting a window and pressing Ctrl-Alt-Shift-X.

What happened to Auto-Fullscreen?

If you tried our 2.0 Alpha, you may have remembered the "Auto-Fullscreen maximized windows" feature - this feature is coming soon, though it had to be disabled in this release due to some tricky edge cases.

Improve the Fundamentals

Due to a number of performance improvements, Peach now uses almost no CPU while in use - this means your laptop battery will last even longer. We've also continued with the window focus improvements we started in 1.2.0, making sure the right window is set as the foreground window so that your hands never have to leave the keyboard.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where we wouldn't correctly detect Mac keyboards and apply the Toggle shortcut workaround
  • Fix a crash where we can 't detect the current keyboard layout for some applications

Peach 1.2.0 - Dedications (Released 8/26/2017)

Window Focus Improvements

When you switch Desktops via Peach (or via Windows itself!), one of the things that Peach tries to improve is the window that gets focus once you switch. This is one of the Little Big Details that Peach does to make your experience better.

In previous versions, because we're gathering this information as it's changing, sometimes Peach would do the wrong thing, and attempt to focus a window you probably weren't using (or occasionally one that's even minimized!) Now, we'll do a much better job of guessing the window you're probably actually using in the desktop.

Peach 1.1.1 - Cartographist (Released 8/23/2017)

Fix a race condition where switching desktops at a certain timing would crash the app.

Peach 1.1 - Cartographist (Released 8/23/2017)

Named Desktops

Now, your Desktops can have their own names, like "Work", or "Music", or "Kitten Pictures" ✨ To get started, use the new shortcut Ctrl-Alt-Shift-N to name the current Desktop. You'll see the name show up whenever you change to this desktop or interact with it

Overlays!

Peach will now give you a handy hint when you press keyboard shortcuts, like reminding you which Desktop you switched to, or letting you know that you've pinned a window.

Per-Monitor Display Scaling Support

Peach will now look even better if you have multiple monitors and one of them is a 4K or Retina display.

Peach 1.0 - Tabula Rasa (Released 8/9/2017)

  • Some Shiny new Branding! ✨ If you're looking for the version number, it's now both a Tooltip on the name of the app, as well as shown as a menu item in the Gear menu.
  • Added Danish as a keyboard layout that has AltGr Zen Nature™

Peach 0.9.1 (Released 7/27/2017)

Peach now correctly handles keyboards with AltGr

Peach will now change its shortcuts based on your current keyboard locale, avoiding shortcuts that may conflict with the AltGr key. If this feature gives you trouble or it should be enabled and isn't for your locale, please write in via the "Send Feedback" feature!

Other bug fixes:

  • Fixed a crash that was affecting a few users after changing their Desktop layout

Peach 0.9

  • If you were using a Mac keyboard, the Toggle Desktop shortcut didn't work for you. Now, if you're on a Mac, we'll use Control-Alt-Backslash instead
  • Sometimes Peach would crash after adding or removing Virtual Desktops via the Windows UI. Now, no more!
  • In fact, as a reminder, we've put the shortcuts for creating and destroying Desktops in the shortcuts list. Handy!

Peach 0.8.2

  • Some subtle tweaks to the UI to make it feel more Windows 10'ish, as well as to fix some issues around keyboard focus.
  • Fixes a bug where the Feedback form could get lost if you switched away to another Desktop
  • Bind "Switch Desktop" to the Numpad keys as well. Convenience!
  • Workaround an issue where on initial install on some computers, the app would crash on the very first run. Sorry to the folx who ran into that!

Peach 0.8

  • Windows-Tab is now in the shortcuts list, a lot of people don't know about it!
  • Make sure that Peach is always on all desktops when the window is open
  • Compatibility with Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Peach 0.7

  • Pinning a window now also makes it Always On Top
  • A new "Gear" menu allows you to send in Feedback and read Release Notes, as well as closing the app
  • Closing the app window will now minimize it to the notification area. To quit the app completely, go to the Gear menu.

  • Peach is now code signed
